Charles Murphy first became affiliated with McKinley Financial when he began his sales career in 1990 as an insurance agent. At that time, he concentrated on selling group health care benefits to small and mid-size companies. |
In 1991, he became a Marketing Sales Executive for the first inaugural Alamo Heritage Bowl, an innovative football event originally organized and promoted by Jim McKinley. Mr. Murphy’s role was to promote the Alamo Heritage Bowl on a corporate level to secure local and national accounts.
Charles was promoted to Vice President of National Accounts in December of 2007. He is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to achieve the Company’s mission and goals. He will continue to oversee all aspects of the National Accounts Division and to develop the organization’s strategic initiatives.
Mr. Murphy has over 17 years of experience in management, sales, and marketing. In 1992, he was recruited by Cellular One as a Corporate Account Manager to sell a portfolio of wireless service accounts. Over the course of the next four years he was recognized as a top producer by being ranked number 3 in the United States and winning the prestigious President Award. He was promoted in 1996 to Business Sales Manager where he was responsible for hiring, training, and developing Business Account Executives to meet sales goals and grow market share. As a Business Sales Manager, he promoted a number of employees to management and higher level sales positions.
Verizon Wireless appointed Charles as their Business Sales Manager for the Miami-Dade area in 2001. He managed a team of Business Account Managers who targeted major and national accounts and developed key initiatives to penetrate the Fortune 1000 companies. Charles demonstrated that he had the ability to manage a great variety of responsibilities simultaneously and effectively while gaining market share and increasing company profits.
Mr. Murphy is a native Floridian who received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
